LRE Leaders Address Small-Scale Miners in Kassanda at NEMA’s Invitation

LRE Leaders Address Small-Scale Miners in Kassanda at NEMA’s Invitation

LRE Invest Africa’s leadership, Leon Guimarães, Camila Fontana and J. Ruben Marone, joined a delegation visit to the artisanal and small-scale mining sites of Kassanda and went on to address local miners at the business centre in Kassanda, at the invitation of Uganda’s National Environment Management Authority (NEMA). The engagement brought LRE’s team face to face with the communities at the heart of Uganda’s mineral sector, reinforcing the company’s commitment to working directly with the people whose work and livelihoods the industry depends on.

In their address, the LRE team focused on the path toward more sustainable, better-organised mining, connecting responsible investment with environmental stewardship, safety and long-term opportunity for small-scale operators. The engagement reflects LRE’s wider approach in Uganda: working alongside government authorities and local communities to identify real needs and structure projects that generate both economic and social impact. For LRE Invest Africa, dialogue of this kind is an essential step in turning the mineral potential of Uganda and the region into lasting, shared value.
